Why do I need to provide my date of birth and personal details?

According to Presidential Decree 102/2019 (Government Gazette A’ 182), which amends PD 23/1999 on the “registration of passengers traveling on passenger ships operating to/from Greek ports,” the following personal data must be collected during booking/issuance:

Last name
First name (in full)
Gender
Nationality
Date of birth (DD/MM/YY)

Additionally, information must be provided if a passenger requires special care or assistance in case of emergency.
